Training for race day can seem daunting at first, but when you really think about it, race day is going to be all about FUN!  The Big Red 5K is all about celebrating Ray, and there is no pressure on pace or race times.  You will run or walk at your own pace, and enjoy the scenery of historic Lebanon along the course with your friends.

It all starts with the first step...

Make the decision to do it, and take the first step.  Literally!  Once you get moving, you'll feel great.

You can use that treadmill collecting dust in the spare room or get outside on a path.  The choice is yours.  If you haven't walked or ran in some time, take it easy the first few times out.  Listen to your body, and make sure that you stay hydrated.  20 minutes a day really goes a long way!

Get a group together!

You don't have to do the flying X's in the photo to the left, but getting together with a group is a great motivator!  Ask friends, family, co-workers to join the race with you, and then set up a schedule to meet and start practicing.

You'll have fun, build a strong bond with your group, and get into shape together!

Cross training

We are firm believers in cross training.  This means incorporating different types of exercise into your routine.  This challenges you mentally and physically, and lets your body get into better shape.

Add some calisthenics, swim, take a Crossfit class, kickbox, walk the dog...whatever you like to do!  Incorporate it into your walk/run training schedule and reap the rewards!

Get your race off to a great start!
